Like an Event in a Dream Dreamt by Another—Dreamcore

Set in the open world of the video game Grand Theft Auto V. Dreamcore draws parallels between the fictional city of Los Santos and colonized Palestine. Through glitches, hacks, and disruptions, the film breaks the game's scripted logic, revealing deep links between gaming and colonial violence. It imagines a new world, one that overwrites the colonial vision with the dreams of the colonized. Dreams are dismissed by settler logic as irrational, yet they are fiercely guarded by the colonized as a source of truth. Here, to dream is not to escape, but to defy.

Dreamcore is the third iteration of Like an Event in a Dream Dreamt by Another.
